Late night info...

I talked with Julie this afternoon and she was going to send the referral letter and birth certificate info around 5pm. Well, we played email tag until 9pm because I wasn't getting the info then she was in the middle of things, so finally we got the official referral letter!!!! Yeah, and we also got just a bit more information that answers a few things we were wondering about. So we are writing the acceptance letter and will hopefully talk with Julie tomorrow to find out what else we need to do. We are so excited!!!!!!

Today is the day!!!

Today we received the phone call that we have been waiting for. It has been made official. We are so excited. The paperwork should be here next Tuesday and we should be travelling within 4 weeks to Bogota. Thank you all so much for all your prayers and encouragement. God has everything perfect in His timing and I know I sometimes don't know why, but this journey has been incredible and I am grateful for all of you who have been walking beside this journey with Jim and myself!!

Woo Hoo!!! And the journey continues...

Hey Hollis's. Looks like we may be seeing you down there!!!

Quick update

I finally have a chance to update you guys. Julie called today and said that we don't have the official assignment yet. They had a meeting yesterday before the office closed for Holy week and she is hoping that they made the assignment then, but we won't know until the end of next week. We are going crazy waiting. Please continue to pray for things to happen. We know that they will in Gods timing but we are dying here..... Thanks for the encouraging words and emails. They really do uplift and encourage me! For those of you who don't know we have moved and even though it is just 10 min down the road, we can't get high speed internet so we are still trying to figure out what to do. I have not had Internet for the past week and a half and it is driving me bonkers. Hopefully I will have exciting news next week!

Paperwork Finally in Bogota!

So after 3 long, frustrating weeks, they finally returned our paperwork back to Bogota!!! What a relief! Sorry we haven't said much lately, but we have been a little scared of why they didn't want to send our stuff back to Bogota and then they needed proof that we requested these children and it has been a struggle to get them to cooperate. So, it is finally there and with the kids information! They are apparently having a meeting tomorrow and if all the kids paperwork is together then they can hopefully make the official referral then and we should hear something by the end of next week. If they don't have all the paperwork for the kids together then who knows how long it could take them to gather it together. So please join with us in praying that all the information is up to date and ready to go so we can make it official and travel soon!

Busy Day

Well we got things rolling today. I talked with our agency 3 times, made copies of our CIS aproval, birth certificates and marriage license, typed 2 letters, sent one by fax, went to the post office and sent our request for another fingerprint appointment and went to the doctors to pick up another medical letter, among other errands. I have been busy, but it feels sooooo good to be doing things that get us closer to our kids! Tonight Jim had a basketball game and while they were warming up I took the kids pictures out of my purse and just looked at them and prayed for them and started to tear up thinking how I could love these 3 so much that I am ready to go to the ends of the earth for them and I don't even know them yet. I have only had their pictures for 4 days. I think my heart has just grown 100 times bigger :) And to think that God loves us so much more than that!

God is so Good!

We have seen our kids!!!! We are going to be parents in less then 2 months. I can't believe it! We are so excited and I keep singing that song in my head "God is so good, He's so good to me".
The info about the kids arrived on Wednesday and we received a call on Thursday and they said they forgot to send the pictures and that they hope to have things translated by tomorrow. AAAHHH, I thought we couldn't wait anymore. We were going crazy. They did give us their names and birthdays so we at least had that to think and pray about. I was really praying that if these were our kids and that God would close the doors for the region that our paperwork was in. Well, He first answered that prayer when Friday came and we got another phone call telling us that they had already requested that our paperwork be sent back to Bogota and then that the photos were hopefully being picked up later in the evening and we should get them on MONDAY and the info latest by Tuesday.... More waiting :( Well, God is good! We discovered late friday night that somehow the director Julie got the photos and sent them to us around 8pm. It was such a blessing that we got to look at them together, b/c when we did we just about started to cry. We knew that these were OURS!!!! We were so excited. Then Saturday afternoon, we get another email from Julie with the translated info. We read it then immediatly emailed back to say that they were ours and we wanted to proceed with the adoption. OH, we are so excited! We can't stop looking at their pics. The oldest is an 8 yr old girl, 3 1/2 little boy and a 16month old girl:) They are so cute and can't wait to show pics but we can't until things become more offical. Since they aren't really a referral we have to request they be matched up with us then proceed forward which we are told could take 2-3 weeks then we would travel in about 3-4 weeks. So somewhere btw/ 5-8 weeks we will be on our way to Colombia!!!!! I knew this time would come eventually, but I can't believe it is happening. Thank you Julie for working hard to get us the info this week and Thank you for all of you who have been praying for us!!! Now, where in the world do we begin and what kind of things do these kids need??? Any ideas are welcomed :)
